Free help available for businesses affected by snow

Businesses in the North West that are concerned about the possible impact of the recent snow fall were today urged to use Business Link for help and advice on their contingency planning.

As heavy snow and icy roads continue to cause problems for businesses up and down the country, people are encouraged to visit the Business Link website www.businesslink.gov.uk/northwest/crisismanagement for advice on crisis management and to find out how to continue their day-to-day business activities despite the bad weather.

Peter Watson, Managing Director at Business Link Northwest says, "The amount of snow fall has had a huge effect on some businesses, such as preventing people from getting to work or stopping essential supplies and produce getting to their destinations. It is times like these where the importance of contingency planning really comes to light."

"Businesses can visit the Business Link website where they can access interactive tools that will help assess and minimise the risks to their business caused by natural disasters such as flooding and the excessive snowfall we’re experiencing. Or they can speak to a local Business Link adviser for information about creating a contingency plan that suits them."

For more information go to www.businesslink.gov.uk/northwest/crisismanagement or contact Business Link Northwest on 0845 00 66 888.
